ABOUT N8 INSIGHT
Strategic Guidance for Professionals Managing the Complexity of Success
N8 Insight helps you make sense of a demanding career, a full life, and decisions that increasingly involve money.
As your career grows, life can become harder to separate into clean categories. Work affects home. Personal priorities shape professional choices. Even sound guidance can feel incomplete when it considers only one part of the picture.
You may not want to hand over key parts of your life to someone else, but you may want a clearer way to connect the pieces, understand your options, and make thoughtful decisions while life keeps moving.
That is what N8 Insight was built to provide: strategic guidance grounded in more than two decades of firsthand financial-services experience and a research-informed, integrated approach to decision-making, change, and personal strategy. The goal is to help you see the larger picture and move forward in a way that reflects your values, responsibilities, motivations, and goals.

THE N8 INSIGHT PHILOSOPHY
Your success is well earned. Managing what comes with it may demand more of you than ever before.
01
Work, life, and money are all connected.
The different parts of well-being do not exist on their own. We view them through eight connected domains that reflect the realities of work, life, and money.
02
The most valuable insight is often already within you.
You already have the experience, judgment, and values to identify what deserves your attention and where change may be needed. We refer to this as your innate insight.
Through structured self-reflection and coaching, we help you organize your thinking and find clear language for your strengths, values, and motivations.
03
Awareness is the starting point for sound decisions and sustained change.
Many successful professionals face a paradox. The demands that come with the success they have earned can leave less time to step back, build awareness, and strengthen the skills needed to manage the complexity that success creates.
We believe this paradox can be addressed by developing capability in four areas.
Mindful Awareness and Attention Management help you recognize what needs your attention and direct it with purpose.
Strategic Decision and Risk Management provides frameworks for evaluating choices, risks, and tradeoffs.
Personal Financial Education and Counseling provides knowledge and tools for making informed money decisions.
Individual Change Management helps you put your decisions into practice and sustain change over time.
Together, these capabilities support more deliberate choices, stronger follow-through, and positive change over time.
STEVEN NEAL: FOUNDER, STRATEGIC COACH & FACILITATOR
I have spent more than two decades in financial services, most recently in executive roles, and I continue to work in and around the industry today. Along the way, I have learned how to build strategy, lead teams, manage change, and help people move from complex questions to practical action.
Like many professionals focused on building a career, caring for others, and keeping life moving, I discovered that being strategic at work does not automatically make it easier to manage the growing complexity that can accompany success.
That experience shaped N8 Insight and the way I work today: with respect for each client’s judgment, attention to the connections among work, life, and money, and a practical focus on choices that fit the person making them.
How I Got Here
As a first-generation college graduate, I experienced a great deal of change in a relatively short period. Career growth brought opportunity, along with more responsibility: increasingly complex financial decisions, a growing family, multiple moves, and new questions about the kind of life we were trying to build.
That experience helped me understand how often successful professionals can look fine from the outside while privately feeling stretched, reactive, or unsure how everything is supposed to fit together.
I was fortunate to find a few strategic coaches along the way, including traditional advisors who were willing to work with me even when my profile did not fit cleanly within their business models. They did not take control of my finances, require me to have a high level of wealth, or make decisions for me. Instead, they helped me ask better questions, evaluate my options, and remain fully engaged in the choices shaping my life, including decisions about work and money.
Those experiences inspired me to pursue years of professional training and ultimately shaped the work I do today.
One More Thing About Me
For years, my wife would remind me of a line from a Dave Matthews song: “The future is no place to place your better days.” I needed that reminder. It is easy, especially for driven professionals, to keep pushing toward the next goal while overlooking much of what makes the effort meaningful.
Running and years of mindfulness practice have helped me understand that in a practical way. As a distance runner and coach, I have learned a great deal about effort, patience, setbacks, and staying present for each step. Like many runners, I have experienced times when I became focused on the next race or finish line, only to realize how easily the goal can begin to take over.
I still value goals, but I view them a little differently. Mindfulness has increased my awareness that life is continually changing. I still set intentions, but I try not to let them become the whole point. I train for the short and long runs in between, not only for the next race. I am learning, still, to appreciate each day as it comes.
That perspective shapes how I approach N8 Insight. Success should not require you to lose sight of yourself along the way. My work helps professionals manage the complexity that often follows success while remaining connected to what makes the effort worthwhile.
Relevant Education, Credentials, & Training
Over the past 15 years, I have pursued training, experience, and credentials in financial counseling, facilitation, coaching, decision-making, and behavior change.
I began that work so my family and I could make better decisions and remain actively engaged in our plans. Over time, it became a foundation for helping others do the same.
